So what can we expect?
Well, every Gundam series ive watched so far has been brooding, full of drama, and even at times very dark….
This on the other hand, is like Gundam mixed with Pokemon! Yup….pokemon…
Shut Up! No thats not a bad thing! Its actually a heck of alotta fun.
The show revolves around Sei Iori, whos family owns a Gunpla store (shop that has Gundam model kits), in a pretty quiet part of town. Sei is quite adept at building his Gunpla models (much unlike my ham fisted attempts) but his skills in battle are low….
“errrrr….skills in battle? Dude…its a toy…do they mash ’em together or something?”
No you fool! The use a crazy assed machine that links you to your Gundam model, so you and an opponent can fully control your models as if you were piloting it!!!
“OH MY GOD MY PANTS JUST INFLATED!!!”
So, these battles take place in a digital field which can change terrains, from, jungle to cityscape etc. There’s “ring out” areas, buildings etc. When one Gunpla defeats the others, the losing players Gunpla gets broken and needs repair for future battles…..like, exactly when you smash your toys together….
Sei Iori, maybe a skilled builder of Gunpla, but his skills are pretty lacking. Enter Ryujii, a mysterious youth who seems to have Bruce Lee prowess when piloting Seis’ Gunpla…. Im not sure who this odd chap is, but were bound to find out as the show progresses.
This, of course, ties in with a toy series line, which i have one of in the mail at the moment! So expect some geeky shots, or maybe a video of my “gunpla skills”….errr..yeah
